HANDOUT LIBRARY

First year graphic design classes cover a lot of standards that are universal. Teach Design 101 gives you access to class handouts on the basics like beginning typography, print technologies and Gestalt principles. These useful tools can have a strong base to build your curriculum from. Download the fully designed handouts as a PDF or as text files so you can design your own content that coordinates with your current curriculum. You can also send us an email request and we will send you a spiral bound, printed set.

We have developed a series of handouts that will help your students understand the basics of Gestalt. There are some graphic examples with definitions along with referenced design examples. These will help your beginning students build their visual language as well as help them understand practical applications.

Gestalt Principles
Typography

One of the most important skills that your beginning students need to master basic typography skills. Understanding of kerning, leading, good rag and other typesetting rules is essential to their success as future design professionals. This set of handouts will give you the basic foundations to help your students set type.

Print Techology

Understanding the processes printing is an important part of a designers job. Your students should know how the different processes work and what they are used for or their future clients may get short-changed on the final project. This set of handouts helps cover the history, how the process works and the limitations of each printing process.
